Poets are Hippes....
People all over the world write poetry to express the way they feel. Some people write things down because they cannot express themselves out loud. I do not agree with this stereotype. I have written poetry many times before and I know for sure that I am not a hippie. Many people think people who write poetry are dark and lonely and that is not the case at all. I have written poetry that makes me happy and also has made me sad. I really disagree with this stereotype.

This particular stereotype has elicited very strong reactions. I wonder especially what "hippie" means and what "poet" means and where this stereotype may have come from.
